SAME Robins


The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is non-profit professional engineering association headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia with Chapters (called Posts) worldwide. Its mission is to bring together professional engineers and those in engineering-related fields; to improve and increase the engineering capabilities of the nation; and to exchange and advance the knowledge of engineering technologies, applications, and practices. Each year, the Robins Air Force Base Post of SAME provides college scholarships to deserving students who are interested in pursuing an education in engineering to help begin this education and mentoring process.

  1. High School Senior or 1st or 2nd year College Student 
  2. Planning to pursue an Engineering or Architecture degree or already enrolled in an Engineering or Architecture degree program
  3. Have a minimum of a 3.0 out of 4.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average and maintain that in college while receiving the scholarship
  4. Apply by Friday, April 7, 2017


  1. A board of SAME officers will make the selection.
  2. Selection will be based on academic achievement, character, personal merit, and commitment towards the field of engineering.  Merit is demonstrated through leadership in school, civic and extracurricular activities, academic achievement, and motivation to serve and succeed.
  3. Selection will be made with no regard to race, color, creed, sex, or national origin.

SAME Robins Post is offering two (2) college scholarships for graduating high school seniors, planning to enroll in an engineering related major as well as 1st and 2nd year college students that are already enrolled in an engineering major. Each scholarship is for a total of $2,500 paid in two, separate installments. The first installment of $1,250 is paid upon selection/scholarship award and the 2nd installment of $1,250 is paid upon completion of a full scholastic year (2 semesters or 4 quarters), as long as the student remains in an engineering related major and maintains at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Scholarship packages will be evaluated by the SAME Robins Post, see the application for criteria. Completed scholarship applications must be submitted to by April 7, 2017, for consideration. The two scholarship recipients will be notified by May 1, 2017.
