| Colby Wilkason of Warner Robins High School is the Salutatorian for the
Class of 2009. She plans to study engineering this fall at Harvard
University. Colby was the WRHS STAR student for having the highest SAT
scores at her school, an AP Scholar, and garnered a total of 30 international, national, state, and regional science awards. She was also
active in band, Beta Club, varsity tennis, and the student council. |

| Meredeth Freeman is the Perry High School Valedictorian for 2009. She was a
member of the Perry High School varsity soccer, cross-country, and swim
teams, and she was active with the National Honor Society, student council,
Future Farmers of America, Future Business Leaders of America, and her
church youth group. Meredeth will study engineering a Georgia Tech this
fall. |

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is non-profit professional engineer association headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia with chapters (called Posts) worldwide. Its mission is to bring together professional engineers and those in engineering-related fields; to improve and increase the engineering capabilities of the nation; to exchange and advance the knowledge of engineering technologies, applications, and practices.
Each year, the Robins Air Force Base Post of SAME provides college scholarships of $1,000 each to deserving students who are potential future engineers. This year, the scholarships are $2,500 each.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- High School Senior or 1st or 2nd year College Student
- Planning to pursue an Engineering degree or already enrolled in an Engineering degree program
SELECTION:
- A board of SAME officers will make the selection.
- Selection will be based on academic achievement, character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is demonstrated through leadership in school, civic and extracurricular activities, academic achievement, and motivation to serve and succeed.
- Selection will be made with no regard to race, color, creed, sex, or national origin.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:
Two Scholarships awarded for $2.500 each
